Public Study Group
Group Description
This cohort is a safe, practical space to move beyond surface spirituality and bring Jesus into the deep places of your life. We combine video teaching from the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality course with guided practices and group accountability. Expect a blend of short teaching, personal reflection, and small-group conversation each week. This is a place to be real, to learn emotional-awareness skills, and to form sustainable spiritual rhythms that anchor you in God’s love.
Group norms & practical details
- Purpose: Grow emotional maturity and contemplative practices together; translate learning into everyday life.
- Who it’s for: Course participants and anyone wanting to integrate emotional health with spiritual formation.
- Confidentiality: What’s shared here stays here — protect one another’s trust.
- Respect & listening: Speak from your experience (“I” statements); listen to understand, not to fix.
- Boundaries: This group supports spiritual and emotional growth but is not a replacement for professional counseling. If someone needs clinical help, encourage appropriate referral.
- Time commitment: Watch the week’s 20 minute video session, spend 20–30 minutes on the reflection practice, and join a 60–90 minute weekly group check-in.
- Facilitator role: The facilitator will post weekly prompts, keep discussions focused and safe, and offer recommended practices.
- Participation: Share reflections, ask questions, post wins and struggles, and respond kindly to others.

I can’t wait for the meeting on Saturday. One thing that stood out for me in this week’s study guide is that “God does not leave us in the wall, it is where he meets us.”
I used to see all the walls that I have been through as a point of failure but this week I have had ease with all the walls- each and everyone of them made me know God better and dwelt longer in his presence because he was my consolation. Thanks to last week, we learnt that its okay to go back to go forward, then it is also okay to ask for help. Well, since last week I have been asking for help, counsel and redirection both emotionally, spiritually and at work😁. After doing that exercise took me to the “Why” I faced those walls and I am glad that I did. Questions are being answered and I am so glad that I am going through this course.
Surpresed emotions have been identified and God has not just been healing but uprooting the virus from the very root. Halleluyah.🙂-

Nice 👍, I’m really excited about this week cos Abraham’s story is one that intrigues me a lot, especially regarding Isaac, how they were able to bear a child which was an intervention from God, yet just to test his faith God still requests for the child. I really wanted to be in Abraham’s mind at that moment 😂😂. I can’t wait to see Pete Scazerro’s perspective

Same here Esther😊 I would really love to sit Father Abraham and ask him, “with all due respect sir, how did you get yourself to do it?” Because, there is a deeper part of that story that we tend to miss. We will look into it on saturday.

“The wall is not where God leaves you, it’s where He meets you differently.”
One truth I’ve come to discover in my journey with God is that, at some point, your old way of relating to Him stops working. And you hit The wall, or as I like to call it, The Dark Night of The Soul. This wall, strips away illusion, deception and control.
Two things that occured to me during this season is that;
1. Growth begins where control ends.
2. The wall is not a sign of failure, it is an invitation to deeper surrender.
If that is the case, I am forced to ask myself, “What am I afraid to surrender?” “What is God inviting me to release and let go of?”
Personally, I am currently in that season, and one thing I will say is this, Its not funny nor is it pleasant. But God is helping me navigate through it as I’ve gone through different stages in this season.
I will tell you all about it on saturday.😊
And I look forward to listening to yours and learning from your experiences as well.
Blessings.

Yes, I have experienced a wall season where things didn’t go as planned despite my prayers and efforts. It challenged my faith, but it also taught me to trust God beyond my understanding. Looking back, I can see that the wall became a place of growth, deeper dependence on God, and spiritual maturity.
