  • Title: Foretaste of Glory

In the midst of our daily routines and struggles, we often catch glimpses of God’s glory breaking through the mundane. This foretaste of glory is a reminder that the kingdom of God is not just a distant reality but a present force in our lives. While the world teaches us to find satisfaction in material success and temporary pleasures, the kingdom principle invites us to see beyond the visible and embrace the eternal.

When we look at the world through the lens of God’s kingdom, we start to see His hand at work in the small details of our existence. Just as Jesus demonstrated the kingdom through healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and bringing hope to the broken, we too can be vessels of His glory in this world. Through transformed lives and restored relationships, we catch a glimpse of the restoration that is to come when Christ returns in full glory.

    Biblical Points:

    – Eternal Perspective:
    – *2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV)*
“as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
Reflect on where your focus lies – on the temporary or the eternal.

    – Hope in Suffering:
    – *Romans 8:18 (NIV)*
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
How can you hold onto hope in the midst of suffering?

    – Restored Relationships:
    – *Colossians 3:14 (NIV)*
“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
In what ways can you actively pursue unity and love in your relationships?

    – Transformed Lives:
    – *Galatians 2:20 (ESV)*
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
How can you allow Christ to transform your life more fully?

    – Perseverance:
    – *Hebrews 10:36 (NIV)*
“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
How can you cultivate a spirit of perseverance in your walk with Christ?

    Discussion Questions:
    1. Why is it important to shift our focus from the temporary to the eternal?
    2. In what areas of your life do you need to invite Christ to bring transformation?
    3. How can you actively participate in bringing glimpses of God’s glory into your everyday interactions?

    Memory Verse:
2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV) – “as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

    Closing Encouragement:
As you navigate the tensions of living in the “already and not yet” kingdom, hold fast to the hope that the glory you experience now is just a foretaste of what is to come. Embrace every opportunity to be a beacon of God’s love and transformation in the world around you, knowing that your labor in the Lord is never in vain.
