    # Devotional Thought

In a world that often focuses on instant gratification and visible success, the kingdom principle of finding glimpses of future glory in transformed lives and restored relationships stands as a beautiful paradox. While the world chases after temporary pleasures, the kingdom invites us to see beyond the present moment and recognize the signs of God’s restoration around us. As we walk in the already-and-not-yet reality of the kingdom, we learn to celebrate these foretaste moments as gifts, not as finalities.

The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 of the eternal perspective we need to adopt: to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. Through the lens of faith, we can see beyond the struggles of today to the glory that awaits us in eternity. This perspective fuels our perseverance, knowing that the challenges we face are momentary and light in comparison to the eternal weight of glory that is being prepared for us.

    Biblical Points
    1. Eternal Perspective
    2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV)
Our present struggles are light and momentary compared to the eternal glory ahead.

    2. Transformation Through Trials
    Romans 5:3-4 (ESV)
Trials produce endurance, character, and hope, shaping us for the future.

    3. Restoration in Christ
    Colossians 1:19-20 (ESV)
Through Christ, God reconciles all things to Himself, bringing a foretaste of the redemption to come.

    3. Celebrating God’s Faithfulness
    Psalm 34:8 (ESV)
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.

    4. Perseverance in Hope
    Hebrews 10:36 (ESV)
Endurance is needed to receive the promises of God, for our reward is sure.

    Discussion Questions
Why is it challenging to focus on the unseen rather than the seen in our daily lives?
What are some foretaste moments of God’s glory you have experienced recently?
How can an eternal perspective change the way you approach difficulties and uncertainties in life?

    Memory Verse:
2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV)> “As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

    Closing Encouragement:
As you navigate the tension of the already-and-not-yet kingdom, may you find joy in recognizing and celebrating the foretaste of God’s glory in your life. Embrace faith-filled perseverance, knowing that the trials of today are shaping you for the eternal weight of glory prepared for you. Walk in the assurance that the God who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.
