August 03: The Commission Given
As believers, we are entrusted with a divine commission to bring the message of hope and salvation to the ends of the earth. This sacred duty contrasts sharply with the self-seeking ambitions of the world, reminding us that true greatness is found in humble obedience to Christ’s command to make disciples. In Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV), Jesus charges His followers to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them His ways. This task may seem daunting, but through His strength and guidance, we can boldly fulfill this mission.God’s kingdom values call us to lay down our own desires and take up the mantle of servanthood, echoing Christ’s example of sacrificial love and relentless pursuit of lost souls. Just as Jesus empowered His disciples with the Holy Spirit to carry out His mission, He equips us today to advance His kingdom with courage and boldness.
