During my devotion this morning, I was reflecting on the story of Jacob. It occurred to me that his wrestle with God had many implications and one of the things that stood out to me is that by the time the night battle was done Jacob was alone, afraid and broken – just where God wanted him to be.

This bible passage runs deep. Just as proverbs 3:5, says to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, acknowledging him in all our ways and He’ll make our path straight.
We only bear sustainable fruit when we draw our plans and purposes from the place of submission to His will.
