Great post @michael ! We are “delivery vehicles for the gospel” – what a candid and powerful statement! It got me thinking about “street evangelism.” Many churches and ministries encourage sharing the gospel in their communities by provide trainings or materials and hosting events… I used to do evangelism on the street a lot, especially in college, but honestly haven’t done it once since the pandemic started. I wonder if it’s been a while for others too? But, on the other hand, I think the pandemic has amplified virtual ministries like KLCC to reach people searching online for truth in challenging times.

In my own life, I try to recognize the opportunities I have to engage people in dialogue that isn’t just surface level – but to learn about how their lives are going and where their faith stands so that I can share about my faith and the gospel of salvation. The people that come to mind are co-workers, parents at my son’s school, my kids and my extended family. Being a “delivery vehicle for the gospel” is definitely something I want to keep at the forefront of my mind!

Wow, what a practical topic for discussion and such insightful commentary. Thank you, Michael! I am reminded of a time when I was having challenges with a particular leader in my organization at work – she would make disparaging remarks about me and my work to other people but wouldn’t give me feedback directly. When I set up time to talk to her about her feedback, she was all smiles and had nothing to say! I soon realized it really wasn’t about me at all, because other people were having the same experience with this particular person.

Looking back, I wasn’t overly emotional about it at the time, but I still think I could have spent less time feeling frustrated and worried about my reputation. As you suggested, the important thing is to maintain a pure heart and posture of forgiveness, even when no apology is given! The reason this is fresh on my mind is because this same leader (I’m still working with her) called me today to apologize for a rude comment she made in a meeting we had yesterday… meanwhile, I wasn’t even offended! I think it shows that God is working in both of us.

Amen! No sense in replacing the giver with the gift. That’s a great word.

Proverbs 29:18 is a such a powerful word! How many people are “walking dead” because they have no vision? I can testify that you are not, you are a dreamer with God!!

Amen @michael ! Wow, the bedrock of depression lies in hopelessness – so true. In that place of depression we have to be willing to dream again – to get out of our own heads, put on the mind of Christ and receive the hope He has for us.

True, thank you for emphasizing the point about living honorably among gentiles. Like you said, Kingdom consciousness is at the root of that. Consistency of that Kingdom consciousness is key, whether is in public or private, in a church building or at work or anywhere else.
