Yes @michael, the last point you made about defending our thoughts and not let anyone cheapen the authority and veracity of God’s word reminds me of Adam in the garden. God told him to tend the garden. The word TEND actually means to guard. So, in essence, God was telling him to guard himself including his theology. Paul warns Timothy to hold fast to the doctrine which he (Paul) delivered to him.

We definitely should seek to prove God personally in our lives and not make other people’s experiences negate the truth of God’s word in our lives.
