I agree in prayer for my country Nigeria that the peace of God will overthrow the darkness and cause light to arise in her midst. May God raise the right leaders for her and overthrow the counsel of the wicked who lie in wait to destroy. May her end be peace and righteousness on all sides! Amen!

This reminds us that love is active and not a passive thing. We have to be intentional about doing good or showing love especially to people we think don’t deserve it. Though hard and sometimes painful, We need to work to remove the barriers of sentiments and prejudice which may prevent us from displaying the extravagant love of Christ to the world around us.

This is thought-provoking when we think of the fact that the demons knew Paul by surveillance. It reminds me not to treat the work of God with levity because even the demons are looking out to see how impactful or influential our Christian work is in our environment. The name of Jesus is given to us by God and unlike the sons of Sceva, we have the authority to use it to cast out demons. Its our privilege and we will use it over the dark forces of this world!

The influence parents have on their children is enormous. As a doctor in my psychiatry rotation, its amazing how many mental health problems stem from poor family structures. Also growing up I realise that those seemingly little morning devotions at home went a long way to shaping our perspectives or response to our surroundings. I see my son and daughter learning to pray and sing godly songs. I think we owe our children the right example because they are that next generation which we hope to see.

Its always a difficult experience to lose a loved one. So we join our faith in agreement with you that the Holy Spirit will flood their hearts with comfort and peace beyond understanding, strengthening and bringing them help at every point of need. This is a good reminder about the ministry of angels because a lot of times we are prone to forget that they are present with us always. The question would be, how do we optimise the use of our angels? how do we put them to work and make their ministry beneficial to us? I think this is where prayers and our confession of the word of God comes in. What do you think?

The concept of christian giving has become somewhat an issue in the church because of some individuals who see it as a way to enrich themselves. That should not discourage our freewill giving. However, the under-rated subject in giving is alms-giving which includes looking out for and giving to a brother or sister in need. Many of us see giving as a means to get from God, but what about viewing it as a means to share God’s love and blessings with others such that each time they thank God for your gift, God is proud of you as the reason for the thanksgiving coming to Him.

I can’t hear this enough. I have to keep reminding myself that the most important thing God wants from me is me. While he desires us to show our faith by our works but he wants us first. Jesus told Martha that Mary had chosen the best part to sit at his feet. The work becomes easier when we work WITH God and not FOR Him.

Faith is the divine address. Its encouraging to know that when we live in faith then no matter the challenges, we’ll end up with the victory.

Very true when you think of it. How is it that we don’t think it foolish to speak to a software on our phones and it does what we say but we find it weird to speak to angels because they are invisible to our physical eyes. I agree that we need to practice it till we get used to it.

In terms of judging angels, this refers to the angels as seen in Genesis 6:1-7 who left the duties and mingled with men and those who rebelled with Lucifer which we call demons. We will judge them. I hope I have answered your question?

So sad to hear about your mom and all she went through. I think she fought gallantly. I can’t begin to imagine what it feels like for you and your family though I’ve experienced this before. But Vidya, be comforted that she is now at peace. When we’ve done all we can, we just stand and let the purpose of God manifest in us and we know that all things work together for good to us who love God and are called according to his purpose. We pray for God’s comfort to guard your heart in these difficult moments. Take heart.
