Amen! I receive that. As I am beginning to study again, I trust in God’s supernatural strengthening power to carry me through my studies and into the exam 🙏🏼

Thanks for this discussion post and word of encouragement, @michael. There seems to always be something that robs me of my peace and half of me thinks it’s the enemy and half is just the culture/society/media that constantly inundates us with so much negativity. For me it’s passing the board exam, my parents’ issues and feeling not up to par with where I’m “supposed to be” in life at this age. Comparison plays a huge role in this. I think also feeling like I should know more, do more, and feel more specific to what is going on in the world and in the news can also be overwhelming. But as believers, I’m grateful that our position is to be in this world but not of it. I agree with @philip that peace os a supernatural gift and that it’s a state of the mind, regardless of what’s happening around us. It can only come from intimacy with the Lord and specifying quality time with Him. I’ve come to realize that the more I spend time in His Word and in worship, the closer I am to Him and more at peace I feel because my gaze is fixed on His presence and not in my circumstances.

For me, one particular innovation that has impacted my day-to-day routine is using zoom for telehealth services for therapy with the kids that I work with. I never thought it would work with kids, especially kids with autism and developmental disabilities, but it has proven to be effective to run certain programs for kiddos on the higher end of the autism spectrum. I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to conduct sessions via zoom because honestly, the drive time to and from my client in-home sessions had been so brutal and stressful. Of course there was the learning curve to do these sessions online but I didn’t mind it very much because it saved a LOT of gas money 😅. That, and I enjoy learning new things. Another innovation is this KLCC app where we convey our thoughts about various topics and listen to daily devotions. I’m grateful for this platform that bridges and fills the conversations from Monday to Saturday.

I’m so grateful for the convicting work of the Holy Spirit to help me understand the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! I was reminded that faith is a gift from God and my spiritual eyes would not have been enlightened had it not been for God’s intervention.

I can definitely say for myself during this last season of studying for my master’s program and my license exam, I grew distant from my usual bibles study fellowship group as well as church family, although at the time I took that as being disciplined to my studies. However, one of my brothers in Christ kindly encouraged me to not forsake the fellowship of believers as it says in Scripture and I realized that once he said that, I felt convicted to get back into community with my brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s not that my love grew cold because I wasn’t in community but my fuel was running empty the more I was focusing on my studies and as I attend Bible studies and church more regularly, my desire to read the Word more and encourage those in the faith also grew. I’m grateful for my brothers and sisters along with our church community here at KLCC for nudging me back to what matters most, community and accountability in the faith.

Wow. This is so encouraging! Thank you for sharing and enlightening us. I feel like there is a general sense of responsibility in the body of Christ versus a personal responsibility to God’s calling on our own personal lives. I think when we have a shared sense of responsibility to encourage/exhort/comfort/etc one another, we are participating as a body of Christ. In this way we way holding each other accountable and working together to share the gospel and further His Kingdom. On the other hand, when we accept God’s call on our lives (I.e., missions, adopting, business, etc), we become responsible to carry that out into fruition. The fruits of our labor can be exemplified by displaying the fruits of the Spirit such as “love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23). I think when we demonstrate these qualities, it provides evidence that we have been in communion/fellowship with God in our own personal time. We become more like Him when we are responsible to stewarding His word to each other, the world and to ourselves.

I feel like this is me everyday lol. I agree, worrying doesn’t get anything done and it in fact slows me down to getting stuff done! I’ve learned that during grad school I would worry less and be more productive at night.. I think it’s because I’m much more calm at night than I am during the day. I kind of associate day = labor and night = relax & sleep. So eventually I end up doing some work at night because my mind is more calm and in a relaxed state than I am during the day hah! Nowadays I just take each task and focus on it before worrying about the next “thing” I need to do.

Lord, we stand in agreement for your timely healing upon our sister. I pray that she would hold fast onto your word that nothing will take away your love for her and that you are with her in the midst of uncertainty. In Jesus name, amen!

This devotional is so timely. I stumbled upon a video last night talking about false teachers and preachers of mega churches. I won’t name them specifically but it opened my eyes because at one time I was listening to their sermons and thought it was biblical at the time. It just made me really sad for the flock to be listening to false doctrine and how manipulative and deceiving the leaders are. I’m praying for those churches and the leaders specifically that they would be open to rebuke and correction of their ways.

So true. The mind is such a powerful tool that if we don’t take control of it by the verse 2 Corinth 10:5, we will be succumbed to the schemes of the enemy.

I love this. I’m still learning to love others with agape love, but I feel like it’s two-fold as we also have to learn how others receive love.

Yes! I feel like even in the secular world, there are so many motivational talks about the mind yet most people don’t know there is biblical truth behind it!
