In a world of stuff, and virtues that symbolize acquiring more things, more money, and more more and more; there is a simple key to happiness that we can get more of and that is contentment- the current state of satisfaction in one’s being and one’s earthly allocations; surrendering to God and trusting that he will give you watch you require and he will give seed to the sower when the time comes .

I am reminded of this scripture, “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”1 Timothy 6:6-8 KJV -

Very true! And it’s a virtue to instill in your kids! I was just talking to Joshua this morning about being thankful for what he has and being patient about when he wants more. This morning he wanted to go buy some new toy at the store and it, and that’s partially because he’s grown used to us getting new toys for him and new things around the house. This post reminds me how important it is to demonstrate good virtues like contentment for kids so they can have a good example to follow.
