  • Your Gifts, Skills & Personality – Clues to Your Calling

    Introduction

God does not hide His purpose for your life; He plants clues inside you. The strengths that come naturally, the skills you’ve developed, and even your personality traits are “breadcrumbs” leading to your Kingdom assignment. Scripture reminds us, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us” (Romans 12:6). Discovering and honouring these gifts is part of discovering your destiny.

Think of a key: its unique grooves are designed to fit only one lock. In the same way, your unique mix of abilities and personality is a divine key to unlock solutions and influence that others cannot. The question is not “Am I gifted?” but “How has God designed me to serve?”

    Biblical Foundation

    • “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)
    • “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

Consider David. Long before he was king, he was a shepherd who learned courage, worship, and leadership in the fields. The very skills developed in obscurity—music, slingshot accuracy, caring for sheep—were later used to calm Saul’s spirit, defeat Goliath, and shepherd a nation. What looked ordinary at first was actually prophetic preparation. Your experiences prepare you for your divine assignment.

    Practical Application

    • Pay attention to what energizes you—when do you feel most alive and useful?
    • Ask trusted friends or mentors: “What strengths do you see in me?”
    • Take time to develop both natural skills and spiritual gifts; both are Kingdom tools.
