    Introduction

The very first thing we learn about God in Scripture is that He creates (Genesis 1:1). Before He revealed Himself as Saviour, Shepherd, or King, He showed Himself as an Artist and Innovator. This isn’t incidental—it tells us that creativity is at the heart of God’s nature, and by extension, part of ours. Being made in His image means every human carries creative capacity, whether in art, problem-solving, innovation, or daily life.

Even science confirms this: research shows creativity is not just for the “talented few” but hardwired into all of us, engaging the whole brain—logic, imagination, and emotion together. Consider the story of 9-year-old Stephen Wamukota in Kenya, who during COVID-19 built a simple hand-washing machine from wood scraps to help his village. He wasn’t trained, but he reflected the Creator’s heart by bringing order and solutions in a time of crisis. That same divine imprint rests in you.

    Biblical Foundation

    • “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
    • “So God created mankind in his own image… male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

From the very first verses of Scripture, God shows that to be like Him is to create, shape, and bring order out of chaos. Creativity is not optional—it is part of your identity as His image-bearer.

Bezalel in Exodus 31 was filled with the Spirit of God for creativity—designing, crafting, and innovating for the tabernacle. His creativity was Spirit-inspired, not just talent-driven.

    Practical Application

    • Think of a child who imitates their parent’s handwriting or mannerisms. Every brush stroke, invention, or solution we bring is an echo of our Heavenly Father’s “style.”
    • Your creativity may not look like painting or music—it could be solving a business problem, organizing a household, writing software, or leading a team.
    • The key question is not “Am I creative?” but “How has God wired me to bring life, beauty, or order into my world?”

    Steps to Live This Out

    • Recognize creativity in the everyday (meal planning, problem-solving, leading).
    • Dedicate your creativity to God—pray before projects.
    • Look for where chaos needs order around you and ask: “How can I bring Kingdom creativity here?”
    • Create a collage (digital or paper) of 3 things you’ve made—big or small—that reflect God’s creativity in you. Share it in the group feed.
