    Introduction

The Bible is full of Kingdom-minded entrepreneurs. Their businesses were more than a way to earn a living—they were platforms for stewardship, service, and spreading God’s purposes. By studying their lives, we learn that entrepreneurship is not just about profit but about aligning enterprise with Kingdom mission.

Joseph turned crisis into a platform for national influence. Lydia used her business success to open doors for the gospel. Paul combined his ministry with tentmaking, showing how business can fund and sustain Kingdom work. Their stories remind us that business and calling are not opposites—they are partners.

    Biblical Foundation

    • Joseph: “The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials. So Pharaoh asked them, ‘Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?’” (Genesis 41:37–38)
    • Lydia: “The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message… she was a dealer in purple cloth.” (Acts 16:14–15)
    • Paul: “After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. There he met Aquila… and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them.” (Acts 18:1–3)

    Here we see:

    • Joseph – An administrator whose strategic grain management created economic systems that preserved nations. He modelled foresight, planning, and stewardship.
    • Lydia – A wealthy merchant whose hospitality financed the early church in Philippi. She modelled generosity, influence, and Kingdom-minded networking.
    • Paul – A missionary who refused to burden churches financially, using tentmaking to support himself. He modelled resilience, financial integrity, and adaptability.

    Practical Application

    • Joseph: Prepare for seasons of scarcity by stewarding wisely during abundance.
    • Lydia: Use influence and wealth to create safe spaces for the gospel.
    • Paul: Integrate business and mission instead of separating them.
