Peace With God: The Greatest Homecoming
“Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — Romans 5:1
The Human Craving for Peace
From ancient civilizations to modern protests, from religious rituals to global diplomacy—the search for peace has always consumed humanity. It’s one of our greatest longings.
We try to find it in religion, relationships, success, or self-mastery. Yet, the world remains restless. Even the Bible tells us that the Antichrist will gain popularity by offering a false sense of peace to a weary world.
What Is True Peace?
Peace is not the absence of conflict, it is the presence of wholeness. The Hebrew word “Shalom” means “nothing missing, nothing broken.” It is physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual alignment.
True peace isn’t something we achieve. It’s something we receive. It is a divine gift—rooted not in our effort, but in God’s finished work through Christ.
The Gift of Peace With God
Romans 5:1 says, ‘Being justified by faith, we have peace with God.’
This is the starting point for every other kind of peace. Peace with God removes guilt, heals the shame, and silences the fear that once kept us running.
Ephesians 2:13-14 confirms that Jesus Himself is our peace. He removed the wall between us and God, bringing us near by His blood.
A Divine Exchange
Religion is humanity’s attempt to reach the divine through rules and rituals. But the gospel is God’s invitation for us to return home—not by works, but by grace.
When we receive Jesus, we are no longer strangers. We belong. We are adopted. We don’t just call Him ‘God’; we call Him ‘Abba, Father.’ This is the beginning of rest for the soul.
Come Home to Peace
If religion, people, or even your own failures have made you feel unworthy—Jesus says, ‘Come.’ (Matthew 11:28)
The cross proves your worth. God is not against you. He’s been waiting to bring you back into fellowship. And only here—at home with Him—can you find your true peace.
