In a world that often exalts personal accomplishments, the kingdom principle of empowerment stands in stark contrast. True greatness is found not in solitary triumphs but in the advancement of others for the glory of God. As we reflect on Acts 6:3, we see the early church facing a practical need for more hands to serve. The apostles chose to delegate, raising up leaders who would ensure the ministry’s continued growth and harmony. It was through empowering others that the church multiplied, a testament to the divine strategy God has woven into the fabric of His kingdom—systems that transform faith into visible fruit.

Worldly thinking often pushes us to gain power for self-advancement. However, kingdom living calls us to give power away, trusting in God to multiply our influence through the talents and gifts of those around us. Jesus Himself demonstrated this by choosing twelve disciples, investing in them not only to share His burden but to carry forth His mission. Instead of clinging to control, He released it, paving the way for exponential growth. When we embrace the wisdom of empowering others, we align ourselves with God’s design for multiplication and transformation.

    # Biblical Points:

    Empowerment through Selection:
_”Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.” — Acts 6:3 (ESV)_
The apostles’ choice illustrates the principle of selecting and empowering capable individuals to share the load of ministry. This act of delegation fosters community unity and effectiveness.

    Multiplication through Empowerment:
_”And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” — 2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV)_
Paul’s advice to Timothy encapsulates the model of spiritual multiplication. As we empower others, we extend our impact far beyond personal reach, building a legacy of enduring faith.

    Servant Leadership:
_”For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” — Mark 10:45 (ESV)_
True leadership in God’s kingdom is marked by serving others. Christ set the example by giving of Himself completely, illustrating that empowerment flows from selfless love.

    Shared Burden Lightens the Load:
_”Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (ESV)_
By inviting others to share in our mission, we not only lighten our load but fulfill Christ’s law of love, demonstrating that carrying through community enriches the journey.

    Wisdom in Delegation:
_”Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.” — Proverbs 15:22 (ESV)_
Empowering others is not only practical but wise. When we embrace the counsel and strengths of others, we position ourselves and God’s work for success.

    # Discussion Questions:

    1. Why do you think God’s kingdom emphasizes empowerment over individual achievement?
    2. What are some obstacles in your life that prevent you from effectively empowering others?
    3. How can you begin to develop a system in your own life or community that mirrors the early church’s approach to delegation and empowerment?

    # Memory Verse:

_”Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.” — Acts 6:3 (ESV)_

    Closing Encouragement:

As you step into this day, remember that your true strength in the kingdom is magnified through the strength of others. Let us be diligent in empowering those around us, releasing control to increase collective impact. The eternal principle of servanthood reflects Christ’s heart and opens the door for God’s unprecedented increase in our lives. Trust that as we build systems and empower others, God’s purpose will be fulfilled in ways beyond our imagination. Embrace the joy and peace that come from moving beyond self to serve and elevate those God has placed in your life.
