If you are serious about your walk with God, you need to make every change necessary to stay both spiritually strong and free from guilt and condemnation. I admonish you to take Paul’s words deep into your heart and “flee” from those things that have an adverse effect on your soul and on your spiritual life.

This verse of scripture was a true anchor for me during my days as a young, unmarried man. The key is FLEE, don’t sit there and pray for grace to overcome the temptation. FLEE!

I like that this is not a suggestion but an active instruction- “Flee”. It should be a conditioned reflex action inbuilt in us. A lot of great men and women have been ruined because of this, so it’s risky to play around thinking we can handle it. Once you get those sexual nuances or undertones in a relationship with someone, it’s time to lift your feet and flee. Don’t rationalize it because you may not escape once caught in the web. For me that is how I survive it and I also think it’s easier when we maintain purity of heart and motive towards others, that way we see purity in all they do and can be honest with ourselves to renew our mind if it is wandering away to inordinate desires. If you fall, pick yourself up, get help and get better.
