Lord give me the discernment to see people who are in need of help when they hid it and the capability to help them not my way but Yours in Jesus name.
Yes LORD give us spiritual sensitivity and discernment to know when someone needs our help IJN 🙏🏿
We are called to help and encourage ppl who are in need and to be the voice of those who don’t have…. But what should one do if the ppl he or she is trying to help doesn’t want to hear the advice? For example, I struggled with depression before being saved and now that I’m set free from it, my bff who is an atheist is struggling with it too and I try to tell her about Jesus and how He set me free from it but she doesn’t want anything to do with the gospel so in this case what should I do ?
Hi! I think the best way to share the gospel is to show the love of Christ. There comes a time and place when you will share the gospel and she will be open and receptive to hearing it, but I believe in the power of showing people Christ’s love. There are so many ways to do that. If she is struggling with depression, listen to her. James 1:19 says “be slow to speak and quick to listen.” Give her food or drink or just company so that she knows she is not alone. One of the greatest chapters in the Bible talks about the way of love. “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
1 Corinthians 13:1-7 ESV
When you know God well, you love well. I hope this was helpful. Bless you! 🤍
Hey thanks very much for the advice and hopefully with time she will get well and would want to know Jesus cause apart from wishing that she will be set free from depression, I also REALLY want her to know Jesus and how much He loves her
Of course! I encourage you to continue to pray for her as there is power in intercessory prayer. Know that God wants her to know Him much more. My family members aren’t saved but I have faith that they will come to know the Lord in His timing as I continue to show them His love. 🙏🏼
@jesuslover , @feng summed it all up. Be patient in love Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” Be her shoulder to lean on as you continue to pray for her and slowly nurse her to believing in the lord. When you show her the power of God’s love, she will have no choice but to come around someday 😊
