Creativity & Innovation
Hello Everyone,
Let’s talk about creativity and innovation this week! Creativity is one of this organization’s core values – and it refers to being a good steward of the visions and fresh ideas that come from God. Being creative doesn’t mean that you know how to paint or dance or sing, it just means that by being in relationship with God, you will be productive in some way to make God’s Kingdom known. He will inspire and empower you to create – maybe you’ll start a business, maybe you’ll start a family, maybe you’ll write a book or start a blog, or maybe you’ll inspire a more godly culture in your workplace… Creativity will look different for each of us.
Let’s consider this platform, the Kingdom Life app, as an example of a creativity and divinely inspired innovation. God downloaded this idea for a virtual community of change agents who learn, grow and inspire each other. And as a leadership team, we took that vision and began to create. We began to plan, to build, to code, and over the course of a several weeks we got a prototype up and running, and we’ve since been iterating on it, making improvements, learning as we go. I’ve been in the project management field for almost a decade now, and I’ve worked on lots of system implementations in government and non-profit spaces – but there’s something special about partnering with God to create something that you know started with Him and has divine purpose to impact the world.
For our discussion, let’s take this opportunity to acknowledge the creative process of developing the Kingdom Life app. God is doing something incredibly unique here and it’s good to stop and celebrate the fruit of partnering with God in innovation. I also want to hear about your personal experience with receiving an idea from God and partnering with Him to create something new – what is exciting, what is hard? Let’s share, encourage and learn from each other.
Discussion Prompts:
1) How has the development of this platform inspired you in the area of creativity and innovation?
2) Has God ever
“downloaded” to you an idea for a product, business, or
innovation? Share your experience.
