September 25: Power for Witness
As believers, we are called to be witnesses of Christ’s love and truth in a world that desperately needs it. The power to effectively witness comes not from our own strength or eloquence, but from the Holy Spirit working within us. The Spirit empowers us to boldly speak the gospel and compassionately serve others, reflecting the heart of Jesus in all we do.In contrast to worldly thinking that values self-sufficiency and charisma, the kingdom principle of witnessing is rooted in humility and dependence on God’s Spirit. Acts 1:8 (ESV) reminds us of this truth, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Our ability to witness effectively is not about our abilities but about allowing the Spirit to work through us.
