September 24: Pray the Kingdom Come
In a world that values self-sufficiency and individual achievements, the kingdom principle of praying for God’s rule to come can seem counterintuitive. Yet, as believers, we are called to align our desires with God’s will, seeking His kingdom above all else. Matthew 6:10 reminds us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” When we pray for the advancement of God’s kingdom, we acknowledge our dependence on Him and invite His transformative power into every aspect of our lives and communities.Contrary to worldly thinking that promotes independence and personal success, the kingdom principle of praying for God’s kingdom to come redirects our focus to God’s sovereignty.
