Title: September 19: Stewarding Influence
In the Kingdom of God, every aspect of our lives, whether at work, with family, or using our gifts, is an opportunity to further His purposes. Unlike the world’s view that segregates the sacred from the secular, as Kingdom citizens, we understand that all we do has eternal significance. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us to work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord we will receive the inheritance as our reward. This mindset shifts our focus from seeking approval from others to aiming for excellence in all areas as an act of worship to God.Often, society values influence based on power, prestige, and popularity. However, in the Kingdom, true influence is measured by faithfulness, integrity, and obedience to God’s Word. We can learn from Joseph’s story in Genesis 39:2-6, where even as a slave in Potiphar’s house, he stewarded his influence well, and the Lord was with him, causing everything he did to succeed. As we seek to steward our influence in every role we have, may we do so with a heart that desires to honor God above all else.
