August 27: A Kingdom Culture, Not the World’s
As believers in Christ, we are called to live out a kingdom culture that stands in stark contrast to the values of this world. The world often exalts power, pride, and self-centeredness, while the kingdom of God values humility, service, and sacrificial love. Romans 12:2 reminds us to not be conformed to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.In a culture that glorifies self-promotion and individualism, embracing a kingdom mindset requires a radical shift in perspective. We are called to deny ourselves, take up our crosses daily, and follow Christ (Luke 9:23). This means setting aside our personal ambitions and desires to seek God’s will above all else. It means prioritizing relationships over achievements, service over self-interest, and love over personal gain.
Let us seek to embody the values of the kingdom in all that we do, allowing God to mold us into instruments of His love and grace in a world that desperately needs it.
