August 01: Putting on the Armor
In a world filled with spiritual battles and unseen forces, as believers, we are called to put on the armor of God daily. This spiritual armor equips us to stand firm, rooted in truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation, ready to wield the sword of the Spirit through prayer and Scripture (Ephesians 6:10-18). While the world may encourage self-sufficiency and reliance on our own strength, God’s Word reminds us that our true strength comes from Him. By putting on this spiritual armor, we acknowledge our dependence on God and His provision for our every need.The contrast between worldly thinking and kingdom living is stark. The world tells us to rely on our own abilities, to fight our battles through our own means, and to seek power and success in our own strength. However, God’s kingdom principles call us to surrender our self-reliance and put on His armor, finding strength in Him alone. This paradox teaches us that true power is found in submission to God’s will and walking in obedience to His Word.
