July 25: Practical Acts of Service
In a world that often glorifies self-promotion and personal gain, the Kingdom of God stands in stark contrast by exalting service and humility. As followers of Christ, we are called to embody the servant heart of Jesus in practical ways that reflect His love to those around us. Galatians 5:13 reminds us, “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”The essence of true service lies not in grand gestures or public displays but in the quiet, consistent acts of love and kindness we demonstrate towards others. Jesus Himself modeled this perfectly through washing His disciples’ feet and ultimately laying down His life for us. By engaging in practical acts of service, we not only imitate Christ but also participate in advancing His Kingdom on earth.
