July 04: The Power of Forgiveness

In a world that often values retaliation and holding grudges, the kingdom principle of forgiveness stands out as a beacon of light. Ephesians 4:32 instructs us to forgive as we have been forgiven by God. This call to forgive echoes the very heart of the Gospel—the undeserved forgiveness and grace lavished upon us by our Heavenly Father. When we forgive, we reflect the character of Christ and experience the freedom and healing that come from releasing bitterness and resentment.Contrary to worldly thinking that believes holding onto unforgiveness gives power over the offender, the Kingdom of God teaches that true power lies in letting go. Forgiveness is not about excusing the wrong done or pretending the hurt doesn’t exist, but rather about choosing to release the other person from the debt they owe us, just as God has released us from our sins through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
