Now that you know this type of divine love is inside you, you can deliberately and on purpose open the doors to your “heart-closet” to take it out and put it on! This will enable you to walk in love, regardless of the situation you find yourself in. Don’t you agree that it’s time for you to get dressed in the love of God today?

This reminds us that love is active and not a passive thing. We have to be intentional about doing good or showing love especially to people we think don’t deserve it. Though hard and sometimes painful, We need to work to remove the barriers of sentiments and prejudice which may prevent us from displaying the extravagant love of Christ to the world around us.

Good insight! Rick is funny… “if you decided to get dressed like that, you probably wouldn’t have any clothes on right now” ? He’s right. Putting on love requires intentionality. I think the same applies to putting on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:11. These things don’t just happen to us, or come by default, just because we are Christians. If we don’t take steps to put them on, we are missing out.

I must say Rick has been a blessing to us in this platform. Very funny way to say the truth. We must put on love, intentionally. Christian living is not a passive act but one that we must actively be part of through a conscious effort. We are to be co-laborers with God by putting on love. Some practical examples that I try to apply include:

    1. Let that text message you are about to send to your spouse, friend, co-worker stay for a couple of hours before tapping send. Read it again if you still want to say some of the things you typed when you were angry.

    2. Take time to premeditate how you will respond to uncomfortable circumstances.

    The list goes on.
