I Did So Many Evil Things Before Now, How Can I Be Sure God Has Forgiven Me?
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we acknowledge the price He paid for our sins on the cross, regardless of how big or small our sins may be. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT) says, “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” Additionally, in Isaiah 1:18, God says, “Come now, let us reason together… though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
There is no distinction between big or small sin—all sin is sin and merits the punishment of death by God’s justice system. According to the law, if you fail in one aspect, you are guilty of all (James 2:10). However, God provided a way out for those who believe. He placed our sins on Jesus by substitution, making His death our death, and thus we become righteous by faith in His righteousness.
God’s forgiveness is a gift you receive because you could never pay for it yourself. Accept it, confess it, and believe it, so it becomes yours. Embrace this truth and let it transform your life, knowing that through Jesus, you are made right with God.
